Futsal

Join us for fast-paced Intramural futsal.

Coached sessions & tournaments

Futsal is played indoors and is similar to 5-a-side football but with a smaller, heavier ball and played to lines with slightly larger goals. It’s a great way to get your football and fitness hit all in one go.

Coaching and equipment is provided at all sessions and is open to all abilities. Teams are decided at the beginning of each session so don't worry about having your own team.

These sessions are run in partnership with Newcastle University Futsal Club so if you impress you have the opportunity to develop and represent our University teams in BUCS.

Free to all those who hold a Sport or Sport & Fitness membership, or can be paid for on a weekly basis of £4 per session. Sessions have a limited capacity so you must book your place.

First Aid and Accident Report

The Sports Centre Supervisors and the Sport and Recreation Officers at the Sport & Fitness Centre are first aid qualified. They will be your first point of contact for any injuries and incidents.

If you or a friend leaves the Sport & Fitness Centre and an injury or illness; which occurred whilst playing squash, deteriorates resulting in attendance at a hospital, urgent care centre or doctors then we require submission of an Intramural Accident Report form – this should be emailed to the Intramural Sport Officer or handed in at the University Sport & Fitness Centre:

  • For minor injuries – reports must be submitted by 09:00 the following day
  • For medical emergencies – notify the Intramural Sport Officer immediately, a report should then be submitted by 09:00 the following day
