Intramural Sport Accreditation Scheme (NCL+ Award)
Highlight your transferable skills to employers
Your future employer will be looking for transferable skills. These include:
- teamwork
- communication
- management
- leadership
Intramural sport isn’t only fun, sociable and great for your health and well-being. It also gives you the chance to develop these skills, and boost your employability in the process.
The NCL+ Award is a university-wide accreditation scheme. It ensures that skills like these are highlighted to employers. Delivered in partnership with the Careers Service, the award is open to all intramural team captains.
What does the NCL+ Award give me?
If you succeed in gaining the award you’ll get certificates. You’ll be invited to an achievement ceremony at the Students Union.
You'll get formal recognition from Newcastle University via your HEAR document. HEAR is the Higher Education Achievement Report. It replaces your degree transcript as your record of what you have achieved while at University.
What do I need to do?
If you’re a current intramural team captain, you’re eligible to apply for and complete the award. You’ll need to fulfill the award criteria, but these add up to little more than you’re already doing.
