Background
I am a General Practitioner at Northumbria Primary Care and a National Institute for Health Research Doctoral Fellow within the School of Medicine from 2023-2029. I previously held an NIHR In Practice Fellowship from 2019-2022.
I am Council Representative and immediate past Chair of the North East England Faculty of the Royal College of GPs.
Research
My research is in the field of medical education, specifically general practitioner workforce recruitment and retention. During my Doctoral Fellowship I am using realist methods to explore and harness the potential of role modelling in undergraduate medical education, in order to facilitate careers in general practice.
Teaching
I teach Newcastle University MBBS year three students on a weekly basis during their clinical attachments to general practice.
