Background

I studied undergraduate medicine at UCL between 2009 - 2015, which is where I started my academic radiology career during an intercalated Bsc year in Medical Physics (1st class hons). My research there was in the Advanced X-ray Imaging group (AXIm) investigating novel coded aperture x-ray phase contrast imaging methods (CA-XPCI) under Professor Sandro Olivo, for which I was awarded the Sidney Russ prize for most outstanding final year undergraduate medical physics student in 2012.

 

I joined Newcastle University in 2015 as a clinical academic and am currently an NIHR funded Academic Clinical Fellow, training in diagnostic radiology and undertaking research within the Stroke Research Group. In the early part of my time in Newcastle I have completed a project evaluating large scale changes to stroke service provision in Northumberland, and during the rest of my fellowship I will be investigating novel diagnostic imaging methods post-stroke. 

 

I have also maintained an interest in advanced x-ray imaging methods, and I am keen to work with local industry experts to bring promising emerging detector technologies from the lab into clinical practice.
