I am a Medical Oncology Registrar with an honorary clinical contract at Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals working between the Northern Centre for Cancer Care and Sir Bobby Robson ECMC, my clinical areas of interest are melanoma and NSCLC.
I am currently undertaking a CRUK funded PhD investigating the role of the microbiome in autoimmunity, with particular interest in the immune related adverse events of treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors, utilising the patient cohort from the MEDALLION study. My supervisors are Dr Amy Anderson, Professor Ruth Plummer, Dr Arthur Pratt and Dr Chris Stewart.
My research areas of interest are: multi-omics investigation of clinical samples and the development of in vitro models to investigate microbial-host immune interactions.
I am treasurer of the National Oncology Trainees' Collaborative for Healthcare Research, and contribute to their research outputs within the Newcastle team. I have also previously acted as a graduate research school representative for the institute of Translational & Clinical Research.
