Doctoral College Fellowships
The Doctoral College welcomes applications for conferment of Doctoral College Fellow, Associated Fellow, Honorary Fellow, and Associated Fellow (Professional Services) Status.
From the beginning of the 2024/25 academic year, the Doctoral College will oversee the application and approval process of Doctoral College Fellowships, in addition to the maintenance of the Doctoral College Fellows List (previously list of Approved Supervisors).
We will operate the process in collaboration with each Faculty Graduate School Manager and PGR Deans.

Approval Process
On completion and submission of the online application form, the submitted applications will be reviewed by the relevant Dean of Postgraduate Research/Graduate School Manager who will determine the relevant category of fellowship.
Where an application for fellow status is approved, the Doctoral College will add your details to the Doctoral College Fellows List, along with any Supervisor Development Programme requirements and participation.
Review Process
Where a fellow has attended a PGR Supervisor Development Programme workshop, the details will be added to the Doctoral College list and the fellow category will be reviewed and updated, where appropriate.
Where a colleague leaves the university, they will be removed from the Doctoral College Fellows list and the Graduate School will consult with the relevant Academic Unit to review supervisory arrangements.
Approved Fellows will be expected to engage with the Doctoral College in development and delivery of the PGR Supervisor Programme and share best practice with your academic unit.
Approved Fellows will be expected to carry out Independent Chair duties if requested. If a fellow is unable to act as an Independent Chair, they should notify the Doctoral College directly.
